With the Holidays just around the corner it is a popular time to get family photos taken. These days there are so many options when choosing a photographer; sometimes it can feel a bit overwhelming. Here are a few tips when choosing a photographer.
1. "You get what you pay for". There is no question about this statement, photographers come in every imaginable price range, cheeper is not better. A common myth about photography is a good camera takes great pictures. False. A good camera will not make you a photographer anymore than a pair of running shoes will make you an Olympic athlete. Being a photographer takes time an abundance of practice and a never-ending love for learning and improving your skill.
2. Connect with your photographer. In this day almost everything is done through the internet, social media, email, and even text are the most common ways of communication. Take a few minutes and have a conversation over the phone or dare I say face to face and get to know them. This person will be capturing moments that can never be repeated. Are they someone you feel you can work with and will be a good fit for your family or special occasion?
3. Enjoy their work. At the end of the day you want to have great photographs of your loved ones so make sure you do the research. Review their work and see if you connect with their style and the way they capture images.
Keep Smiling,
Heidi
